More than 400 students from Meridian Technology Center will be recognized for completing their training during the school’s upcoming graduation.

Meridian will hold the school’s graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 19, at 6 p.m. at the Stillwater High School Gymnasium.

In addition to students who are completing their career training, Meridian will recognize students who have maintained high academic standards throughout the school year and are members of the National Technical Honor Society, the Leadership Class, CareerTech Student Organization skill contest winners and Outstanding Students from each program area. Students who have recently passed their high school equivalency exams will also be recognized during the ceremony.

“Student success is something we are proud to celebrate, and this year is certainly not an exception,” said Superintendent/CEO Dr. Douglas Major. "Students graduating this year are prepared for work and life. They have mastered their area of study, Zoom and hands-on hybrid learning during their time at Tech. They've also grown in their understanding of compassion, personal space, respecting others with differing opinions and new technology. They are driven, determined and dedicated. They are ready for what’s next.”

The decision to hold Meridian’s graduation at Stillwater High School’s Gymnasium will allow students to invite family and friends to share in their accomplishments. Seating for guests will be available on both sides of the gymnasium. A live stream video will be available for those unable to attend the ceremony. Students attending Meridian can choose from more than 20 programs. High school students living in the Meridian district attend tuition-free in either a morning or afternoon session and training takes approximately two years. Adults can attend full-time or part-time and typically complete programs in one or two years.
