1974-2024

Sammy Ray Reece, Jr. was born April 6th, 1974, in Oklahoma City, OK to Sammy Ray Reece Sr. and Patricia (Miller) Reece-Richardson. Ray’s childhood years were spent in the Logan County area. He attended elementary school in Guthrie and Mulhall. In 1988 Ray’s family moved to Yale, OK where he entered Yale Jr. High. Ray graduated with the Yale High School class of 1993. During his time at YHS he played football (#77) and basketball. Ray was awarded many athletic awards. Two of his highest achievements were Male Athlete of the Year (an honor both of his sons would earn their Sr years at YHS) and playing in the 8-Man All State game in 1993.

After Graduation Ray attended one semester at Northeastern Oklahoma College in Miami, OK. In the fall of 1994, Ray began his lifelong career in the steel storage tank industry.

Ray traveled the continental United States, coast to coast, constructing above ground steel storage tanks. He started as a laborer and worked his way up in the industry to project management. In 2008, he founded Alliance Tank Service in Cushing, OK. Alliance Tank was Ray’s dream and he saw it through working tirelessly to grow his company and the people who he employed.

After selling Alliance Tank in 2016, Ray started a new endeavor as a real estate developer, developing neighborhoods in many different communities in central Oklahoma.

In 2020, Ray and his best friend, Jerry Spyres, founded Allied Tank and Construction in Cushing, OK, beginning another journey in the above ground steel storage tank industry, that is still in operation today.

Ray’s 3 children, Tristan, Raegan and Sammy III were his drive in life. He taught his kids to always be someone, someone else can count on.

Ray was a BIG Oklahoma Sooner fan, holding season tickets for the Sooners for many years. He enjoyed taking his kids and friends to games. Taking his kids to the Rose Bowl in 2018 was one of his favorite trips. His children will always remember him and his friends Jay and Pat coaching their youth sports. Traveling with their Dad was one of their fondest memories.

Ray’s loss is felt so deeply by so many. He was a wonderful man with caring soul. He was the type of guy that would give the shirt off his back if you needed it.

Ray is survived by his Children Tristan, Raegan and Sammy III. Grandchildren Adlee, Nash and Kymber. His parents Jesse and Patty Richardson. Sisters Rachelle Campbell and Rhonda Miller. Paternal Grandmother Mary Reece. Many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his Father Sammy Ray Reece Sr. Paternal grandparents Sam Reece and Lyman and Lula Richardson. Maternal Grandparents Loyd and Joan Miller and Bonus Dad Chuck Ramsey.
